Steve Bull was born on March 28, 1965, in Staffordshire, England. After leaving school he played non-league football at Tipton Town for three years, before West Brom offered him a professional contract in 1985.

The striker played just four league matches for the Baggies, scoring twice, before they opted to sell him to local rivals Wolves in November 1986. During 13 unforgettable seasons at Molineux, ‘Bully’ scored 306 goals, and he remains the club’s highest ever goalscorer.

Although Bull never played top-flight football with Wolves, he was capped 13 times by England between 1989 and 1990 – scoring four times.

Wolves won three trophies during Bull’s spell at the club, landing the Fourth Division title and Football League Trophy in 1988, and the Third Division title in 1989.

In 1999 the forward was awarded an MBE for his services to football.

As a Wolves player, Bull netted an astonishing 18 hat-tricks before retiring from the game at the age of 34. In June 2003 the club announced that one of their main stands would be renamed ‘The Steve Bull Stand’ in honour of their legendary striker.
