This historic photograph shows England legends Sir Tom Finney and the late Nat Lofthouse in training for an international against Spain on November 28, 1955 at Stamford Bridge. It was signed by Sir Tom in Preston in April 2007 and Lofthouse in Bolton in April 2007. Lofthouse represented England 33 times scoring a staggering 30 goals. On May 25, 1952, Lofthouse earned the title 'Lion of Vienna' after scoring his second goal in England's 3-2 victory over Austria. In doing so he was elbowed in the face, tackled from behind, and finally brought down by the goalkeeper. represented England 76 times, scoring 30 goals. Whilst Finney's ability was great many will remember him for his gentlemanly conduct on the game which ensured he never received a booking throughout his entire career.
