Kevin Keegan OBE was born on February 14, 1951 in Armthorpe, Doncaster in England.He started off his career for Scunthorpe united in 1968 where he played in the English fourth division for three years.
In 1971, he then moved to Liverpool for £35,000, where he would go on to win two UEFA Cups, three English league titles, a European Cup and one FA Cup.
Keegan scored 100 times for Liverpool in 323 appearances.
He then moved on to Hamburg in 1977, where he won two European footballer of the year awards before moving to Southampton in 1980.
Keegan also scored 21 goals in 63 appearances for England, who he later went on to manage.
He is affectionately known as 'King Kev' by Newcastle fans after his successful years there as a player and a manager.
