Orlando Bloom was born on 13th January 1977 in Canterbury, Kent. He moved to London in 1993 to complete A-levels in Drama, Photography and Sculpture at Fine Arts College before joining the National Youth theatre and earning a scholarship to train at drama school.

Just two days after his drama school graduation, Bloom was cast as Legolas in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, a role that he reprised for the prequel films, "The Hobbit" trilogy. The films based on the J.R.R. Tolkien books are some of the most successful of all time, collectively grossing nearly $6 billion and winning 17 Academy Awards.

In 2003, Bloom landed the role of Will Turner in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl" opposite Keira Knightley and Johnny Depp. The film was a box office smash and went on to have two sequels also starring Orlando Bloom. Bloom continues to have a thriving film career, appearing in films over the last 25 years including "Black Hawk Down", "Kingdom of Heaven" and "Gran Turismo".
