Kill Bill Vol.1 was acclaimed Director Quentin Tarantino’s fourth feature film, however Tarantino considers Vol.1 and Vol.2 as one film.
The film features Uma Thurman as the lead character of “The Bride” or "Black Mamba". She heads an all-star cast featuring Daryl Hannah, Lucy Liu, David Carradine, Michael Madson and Vivica A. Fox. It follows the story of The Bride seeking revenge on a group of assassins who attempted to kill her and her unborn child.
The film was seen as revolutionary due to it’s infamous long tracking shot and use of an anime sequence. Released on 10th October 2003 and grossed over $180m worldwide, the highest earning opening weekend of any Tarantino film at that point.
The film was a critical success earning five Academy Award Nominations, and winning Best Action/Adventure Film and Best Actress for Uma Thurman at the 30th Saturn Awards.
