This classic photo was signed by Sir Ian Botham in a private signing session arranged and conducted by Exclusive Memorabilia on November 2, 2017 in Durham. It shows Botham enjoying a cigar before his famous innings at Headingley of 149 not out to set England on the way to their sensational Ashes victory in 1981. Midway through the third test England had been forced to follow on. They found themselves 105-5, still 222 runs short of forcing Australia to bat again, when Botham walked out to bat. Two more wickets soon fell, to leave England staring defeat in the face at 135-7. Botham began swinging the bat, to produce a sensational innings of 149 not out, and leaving the Aussies needing 128 to win. An incredible piece of hostile bowling from Bob Willis the next day, taking 8 for 43, skittled the Australians out for only 111, to secure an improbable victory.
All our signed memorabilia is supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by a company director. It features a numbered hologram that matches an identical hologram affixed to your product, and details of when and where the product was signed. Our company number and details are included on the certificate.
Each certificate includes, where possible and in the vast majority of cases, a photo of the sportspeople or celebrity signing one of the product line at the relevant signing session. For logistical reasons it is impossible to photograph every product being signed, but showing that the sportsperson or celebrity was present and signing items is, we believe, the best way to demonstrate the legitimacy of your products.
Numbered security hologram
Your certificate will come with a numbered security hologram, which will correspond to a matching, identically numbered hologram on your product. This ensures that the certificate can only be used to authenticate the item for which there is a corresponding number. If anyone attempts to remove either hologram it will destruct, so it is impossible to transfer the holograms to other items.
