Michael Paul Vaughan OBE, born October 29, 1974. In 2005 Michael Vaughan became the first man to captain England to an Ashes victory since Mike Gatting in 1986-87, in what is regarded as the greatest test series of all time.
A classy batsman, who briefly led the world batting averages, he also bowled a good off-break. He made his first class debut in 1993 and scored 33 on his England test debut against South Africa in 1999.
