Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira Júnior, commonly known as Vinícius Júnior or Vini Jr, was born in Brazil on 12 July, 2000.
On his 18th birthday, Vini Jr officially signed for Real Madrid from his youth club Famengo for €46 million.
Vini made his Madrid debut in September 2018, against Atletico Madrid and scored his first goal in November against Real Valladolid.
After suffering a ligament injury during his first season with the club, Vini made 29 appearances the next year and helped Real Madrid win the 2019/20 La Liga.
Vinicius had his first-team breakthrough during the 2021/22 season. After scoring a brace after coming off the bench against Levante early on in the season, he earned a starting role ahead of Eden Hazard for the remainder of the season. Vini scored 21 goals in 51 games for Madrid.
His incredible contributions helped Madrid win La Liga, Supercopa de España and the 2022 Champions League. Vini scored the winning goal in the UCL final against Liverpool.
Vini made his international debut for Brazil during 2019 against Peru. He was named in the 2021 Copa America squad, which Brazil lost to Argentina in the final. The winger is expected to play a pivotal role in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
